Louisiana Agriclimatic Information System Menu Skip to Main Content Menu Home Latest Conditions Charts Reports Welcome to the Louisiana Agriclimatic Information System The Louisiana Agriclimatic Information System (LAIS) is a network of 7 automated weather stations operated by the LSU AgCenter . The network is managed by the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAE) . Each station consists of a datalogger that observes several electronic instruments on a 3-second interval. Output is generated by the datalogger: Every 3 seconds (This data is normally not archived) Daily (At midnight) Hourly Every minute The 3 second sample data is used to derive the average and total values from that sampling frequency for daily, hourly, and minute data. This new application has been collecting data since May 27, 2019. We have begun the process of transforming all historical data to work with this new application and it should be available here around mid-January 2020. Mission Statement The Louisiana Agriclimatic Information System (LAIS) collects, processes and distributes detailed climatic data relevant to agricultural production, natural resource management, environmental protection and public safety.
